The Dobson Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the McClintock Chargers at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Dobson turned things around against Camelback on Monday. They blew past the Spartans 17-1. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Tristin Watson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Dobson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Brenston Velasquez and Brody Dobson did most of the damage at the plate: Velasquez scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Dobson scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Velasquez has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cristian Renderos, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Dobson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, McClintock beat Carl Hayden Community 4-1 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.
Javier Alvarado made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Alvarado wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alex Nemecek, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Lucas Wisehart also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
The win got McClintock back to even at 5-5. As for Dobson, their record now sits at 3-6.
McClintock's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dobson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for McClintock, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Dobson's hitters?
Dobson skirted past McClintock 4-2 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Dobson repeat their success, or does McClintock have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
