Basketball Recap: Central Pointe Christian Academy National's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Central Pointe Christian Academy National had won three straight games and Leya Landin did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Central Pointe Christian Academy National White Tigers walked away with a 54-44 win over the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas thanks in part to Landin, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for five straight games.

The team also got some help courtesy of Yohangeli Guzman, who posted six points. What's more, she also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

Central Pointe Christian Academy National has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for New Smyrna Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-2.

Central Pointe Christian Academy National will take on Centennial at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Smyrna Beach, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on DME Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
