Moorefield has been on the road for 12 straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Pocahontas County Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Moorefield is ranked 64th, while Pocahontas County is ranked 77th).
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Moorefield beat Frankfort 47-43.
After soaring to a 38-point win in their last game, Pocahontas County came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of East Hardy by a score of 46-44.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Allyson Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Pollack, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Moorefield's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. As for Pocahontas County, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-9.
Moorefield was able to grind out a solid win over Pocahontas County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 45-32. Will Moorefield repeat their success, or does Pocahontas County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
