Delsea has gone 7-2 against Timber Creek Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Crusaders will be playing at home against the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. Delsea will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
On Thursday, it was close, but Delsea sidestepped Absegami for a 7-6 victory.
Ethan Dubois made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Dubois was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Otley Makosky looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
Back at the plate, Cole Hudson and Alex Grippo did most of the damage at the plate: Hudson went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Grippo went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Hudson has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gavin Deegan, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Timber Creek Regional narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cumberland 4-2. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won three in a row.
Brycen Monitzer looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Timber Creek Regional: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Simpson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Timber Creek Regional's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Delsea, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0.
Delsea came out on top in a nail-biter against Timber Creek Regional when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
