A well-balanced attack led the Broomfield Eagles over the Prairie View Thunderhawks in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Broomfield blew the Thunderhawks out of the water with a 83-36 final score. Given Broomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Thunderhawks are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Broomfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joey Cook, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Blaes Kane was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Several Thunderhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javon Brewton, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Brewton hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Andrew Holman, who scored two points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Broomfield and bumps their season record up to 13-6. As for Prairie View, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broomfield and the Bulldogs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Prairie View, they will head out on the road to face off against the Coyotes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
