The Campolindo Cougars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against Benicia by a score of 57-45. That's another feather in the cap for Campolindo, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Campolindo to victory were Gavin Rendle and Dylan Mansour. Rendle scored 15 points, while Mansour scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Mansour's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Ren Marchetti, who scored seven points.
Campolindo's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Benicia, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Campolindo will head out on the road to square off against Alhambra at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Alhambra focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday. As for Benicia, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against College Park at 7:30 p.m. College Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Benicia is ranked 129th).
