The Laurel Golden Tornadoes will head out on the road to face off against the East Central Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Laurel is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Central in Mississippi (Laurel is ranked 123rd, while East Central is ranked 289th).
Laurel posted their biggest win since November 16, 2023 on Friday. Everything went their way against Stone as Laurel made off with a 63-38 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Laurel.
Meanwhile, East Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They took a hard 60-46 fall against Gautier.
Despite their loss, East Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cartavious Myers, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Porter Martin was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for East Central, they bumped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road.
