The Benjamin Buccaneers and the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Benjamin Buccaneers had to settle for second. They fell just short of the ThunderWolves by a score of 1-0. Benjamin was red-hot offensively headed into the game (they scored no less than four goals in the three matches prior) but Oxbridge Academy's defense proved too tough.
Benjamin's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6-3. As for Oxbridge Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6-2 record this season.
Benjamin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oxbridge Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Oxbridge Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
