Having just played yesterday, the Garden Grove Argonauts will jump right back in to play the Lakeside Lancers at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Garden Grove picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They came out on top against Westminster by a score of 72-60.

Garden Grove can attribute much of their success to Neiman Quach, who posted 26 points and five boards, and Ethan Juarez, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Quach is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Diego Serrano was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a hard 72-55 fall against Tarbut V' Torah. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by exactly 17 points.
Garden Grove will need focus on slowing down Akilie Bridges, one of several Lakeside players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7 of 8 on his way to 14 points along with six boards and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Bridges a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Norman, who put up eight points and six steals.
Garden Grove is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Garden Grove has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Lakeside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Garden Grove was able to grind out a solid win over Lakeside in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 71-64. Does Garden Grove have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lakeside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
