Lake Mary extended the longest winning streak in 8A District 2 this week by beating Lake Howell, 30-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Seminole moved up to 116 from 172 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Seminoles were able to make the jump by beating Mainland 20-0.
Seminole's dynamic duo of Horonadis Tillman and Ronnie Moore proved tough for the Buccaneers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Tillman threw for 258 yards and one touchdown and Moore had 122 yards receiving. Alexander Glenn helped Seminole's passing attack out by catching two balls for 61 yards.
Charles Lamar was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 94 yards as Lake Mary beat Mainland. Teammate Keiyshard Bobb added to the ground attack by rushing for 92 yards.
On the ground, Scott Perry's team's Bobb has rushed for 471 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nicholas Westbrook-Ikhine. The Lake Mary star has 24 catches for 382 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Rams take on Lyman. Lake Mary's offense has scored 148 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Greyhounds have allowed only 103 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Seminole takes on Lake Brantley. The Seminoles are currently in fourth, while the Patriots are in second.
Lake Brantley took down Winter Springs 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
