A feisty cat fight will be fought as Walton-Verona Bearcats  take on  Calvary Christian Cougars at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Walton-Verona is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4  runs per game  this season.
Last Tuesday, Walton-Verona didn't have quite enough to beat Trimble County and fell  8-7. The Bearcats haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
  Reagan Smith was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 2-for-3. She also put up a  double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Sophie Lepping, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Meanwhile, Calvary Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They came up short against  Villa Madonna, falling  13-5.
 Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Walton-Verona, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
 Walton-Verona took their  victory against Calvary Christian  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  19-3 score. Will the Bearcats repeat their success,  or do  the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
