The Lubbock Westerners''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Cooper, falling 61-7. Lubbock has struggled against Cooper recently, as their game on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Daniel Bray went supernova for Cooper, rushing for 154 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Christian Rico, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Lubbock's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.2 points per game.
