The White River Hornets will square off against the Federal Way Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in White River's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
On Tuesday, White River made easy work of Decatur and carried off a 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Elliotte Kajita and Laken Elvig were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Kajita struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Elvig struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave Kajita a new career-high. At the plate, Kajita went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Elvig went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Selander, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Abby Akins was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs.
Federal Way might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-6 to Enumclaw, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Meeghan Meagher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sosephina Sailiai, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
White River is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Federal Way, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
White River took their victory against Federal Way in their previous meeting on April 1st by a conclusive 14-1 score. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
