The Highland Park Scots had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Bonner Springs by a score of 52-41 on Tuesday. This was payback for Highland Park, who suffered a 53-36 loss the last time these two teams met.
Amelia Ramsey was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 23 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tahtionna Broils , who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Highland Park's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Bonner Springs, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-5 record last season and are now at 1-2.
Highland Park will head out on the road to face off against Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bonner Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Frontenac on Tuesday.
