Quitman took an ego-bruising loss against Conway Christian last Friday, but they kept their chin up and bounced back on Friday. Quitman blew past Poyen 41-20. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Quitman, who can brag about five blowout wins.
The victory bumped Quitman's record up to 6-2. Poyen's defeat pushes them down to 5-3.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. Next week Quitman will take on England at 7:00 PM. Unlike Quitman, England will be limping in after taking a loss. As for Poyen, they will go up against Mountain Pine. Mountain Pine are cruising in on a three-game winning streak.
