The Bruceville-Eddy Eagles were the 55-40 winner over the Hill Country Christian School of Austin Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Bruceville-Eddy took a serious blow against Hill Country Christian School of Austin on Saturday, falling 58-30. While losing is never fun, Bruceville-Eddy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1009th, while Hill Country Christian School of Austin is ranked 402nd).
Despite the loss, Bruceville-Eddy still got an impressive performance from Elaina Mcculloch, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Mcculloch scored a full 50% of Bruceville-Eddy's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kambrie Diaz was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Bruceville-Eddy and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Hill Country Christian School of Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bruceville-Eddy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Rosebud-Lott at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Rosebud-Lott is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Hill Country Christian School of Austin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Cross at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Cross' defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Hill Country Christian School of Austin's offense will have their work cut out for Hill Country Christian School of Austin.
