Softball Recap: Kofa Wins Going Away Against Yuma

Kofa won the last time they faced Yuma and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Kings put the hurt on the Criminals with a sharp 18-2 win.

Haley Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Veronica Zazueta, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.

Kofa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games.

Kofa has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Yuma, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Kofa has already played their next match, an 11-7 loss against Cibola on the 22nd. As for Yuma, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Gila Ridge on the 17th.
