Meanwhile, Perry was able to grind out a solid victory over Highland on Thursday, taking the game 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for Perry.
Matthew Wallace looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also only allowed one walk). Payton Holinka relieved him and did a solid job, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (he also only allowed one walk).
At the plate, Dillon Mendoza was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and a double. Another player making a difference was Ryan Davie, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Basha has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season. As for Perry, their record now sits at 6-10.
