Make it 12 blowout wins for the Fort Hancock Mustangs this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Anthony 62-29 on the road. Fort Hancock's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Alessandra Jimenez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 28 points, 17 rebounds, and ten assists. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackeline Arriaga, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Anthony still got an impressive performance from Julie Cuellar, who scored 23 points. Cuellar is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 16 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aissa Castillo, who scored six points.
The win (which was Fort Hancock's seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Anthony, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Hancock will take on McCamey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. McCamey is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Anthony, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wink at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wink will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
