The Fridley Tigers came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 68-58 win over Totino-Grace. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Fridley to victory were Aubrey Cochran-Star and Brandi Washington. Cochran-Star scored 25 points, while Washington scored 26 points. The matchup was Washington's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Charis McKenzie, who scored eight points.
Fridley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Totino-Grace, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1.
Fridley will take on Robbinsdale Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Totino-Grace, they will head out on the road to face off against Andover at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
