Hopefully Montgomery is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Rosa in California (Montgomery is ranked 48th, while Santa Rosa is ranked 448th).
Even though Maria Carrillo scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Montgomery still came out on top. Montgomery walked away with a 68-56 win over Maria Carrillo.
Meanwhile, Santa Rosa pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 70-55 to Windsor. Santa Rosa just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Montgomery is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Santa Rosa, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Montgomery strolled past Santa Rosa in their previous matchup on January 5th by a score of 61-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montgomery since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
