Pollok Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Diboll Lumberjacks at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pollok Central will be strutting in after a victory while Diboll will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Pollok Central strolled past Huntington with points to spare, taking the game 58-44. Given Pollok Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Huntington is ranked 1127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pollok Central relied on the efforts of Darrius Sherman, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds, and Wyatt Graham, who scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Matthews, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Diboll lost to Central Heights at home by a decisive 52-37 margin on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Diboll has scored all season.
Pollok Central pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 16 points. As for Diboll, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Pollok Central came up short against Diboll in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-45. Thankfully for Pollok Central, Zach Phipps (who dropped a triple-double on 27 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
