Rising Sun has gone a perfect 10-0 against Oldenburg Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Shiners will be playing at home against the Twisters at 5:30 p.m. Rising Sun is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

13 must be Rising Sun's lucky number: they beat North Decatur with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Shiners beat the Chargers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Shiners, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Emily Oatman was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Rising Sun got a big performance out of Reese Merica, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryan Works, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Rising Sun hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Oldenburg Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Greenwood Christian Academy 7-5.

Rising Sun's victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oldenburg Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Rising Sun took their win against Oldenburg Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Shiners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Twisters turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
