Softball Recap: Quaker Valley Starts Season with Win on the Road

Quaker Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Cornell Raiders with a sharp 15-1 win. The Quakers haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Olivia Hoose was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Hoose was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Leah Weisser was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-2. Alivia Snyder was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quaker Valley will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Ambridge at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Cornell will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carlynton at 4:00 p.m. on March 27th.
