Basketball Game Preview: Greene County Tigers vs. Tuscaloosa Academy Knights

The Greene County Tigers will head out to take on the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Greene County took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They secured a 52-48 W over Holy Spirit Catholic.

Darryl White Jr and Ronald Wilder Jr. were among the main playmakers for Greene County as the former dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists and the latter dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave Wilder Jr. a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Chance Richardson, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Tuscaloosa Academy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 78-34 victory over the Mustangs. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 44 points or more this season.

Tuscaloosa Academy pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.2 points. As for Greene County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Greene County came up short against Tuscaloosa Academy when the teams last played last Wednesday, falling 59-50. Can Greene County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
