On Wednesday, Paradise Honors made easy work of Moon Valley and carried off a 3-0 victory.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Paradise Honors was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-10, 25-12.
Meanwhile, Thunderbird got the win against Greenway last Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.
One reason for the win was Thunderbird's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-12.
Paradise Honors better keep an eye on Ema-Lee Burke. She was instrumental in Thunderbird's win, getting 20 digs and four aces. The dominant performance also gave Burke a new career-high in assists (five). Cecelia Bouchard was another key player, getting 30 assists and 18 digs.
Thunderbird was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matchups.
Paradise Honors' record now sits at 21-11. As for Thunderbird, their record is now 10-11.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Paradise Honors has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Thunderbird struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Paradise Honors suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Thunderbird in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
