North Central I recap Oct. 3, 2012
St. Helena extended the longest winning streak in North Central I this week by beating Kelseyville, 45-19. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Middletown moved up to 413 from 478 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-0 win over Willits.
St. Helena's Richard Hoppe and Gatlin Blakely have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hoppe has thrown for 642 yards this season, while Blakely, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 12 catches for 227 yards. Robert McLean from the Knights leads the league in rushing with 298 yards.
A big matchup in North Central I this week will be when Fort Bragg takes on Middletown. The Timberwolves are in third place, while bill foltmer's team is in second place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Fort Bragg takes on the Mustangs. Roy Perkins's team has allowed 39 points this season, while Middletown has given up 27. The Timberwolves allowed 8 points last week as they defeated Lower Lake.
Fort Bragg and the Trojans played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Fort Bragg eventually emerging with a 14-8 victory.
