After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Juan, Summit Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Delta Rabbits 42-14. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 40-15 loss the last time these two teams met.
Summit Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Liam Larson led the charge by picking up 146 receiving yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 95 yards and one touchdown. Larson's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards. Beau Edmunds did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 32 receiving yards.
Summit Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyllman Reese and Cooper Despain. Another thorn in Delta's side was Tug Wilbur, who picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles (5.0 for loss).
When it comes to explaining why Delta lost, don't look at Jett Rawlinson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 157 yards and one score on only 13 carries. With that strong performance, Rawlinson is now averaging an impressive 110.5 rushing yards per game.
Summit Academy moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Delta, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Summit Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 50-10 win against American Leadership Academy on the 19th. As for Delta, they have also already played their next matchup, a 61-7 defeat against San Juan on the 19th.
