Basketball Recap: Arizona Cultural Academy Piles Up the Points Against Sonoran Science Academy

The third road contest was the charm for Arizona Cultural Academy, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past Sonoran Science Academy 57-29 on Thursday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-13.

Arizona Cultural Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Omar Abdelsalam led the charge by shooting 45% from the field to rack up 12 points. That's the most points Abdelsalam has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abdurahman Abas, who had 12 points and six rebounds.

Arizona Cultural Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sonoran Science Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Arizona Cultural Academy will take on Victory Futures Academy in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Arizona Cultural Academy will need to watch out since Victory Futures Academy has now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Sonoran Science Academy and A+ Charter School will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
