Pittsfield has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Drury Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pittsfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Pittsfield can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game. Everything went their way against Pope Francis Prep as Pittsfield made off with a 74-50 win.
Harolyn Castillo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-8 from long range and dropping a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Dezerea Powell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Drury couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Agawam.
Pittsfield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Drury, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.
Pittsfield skirted past Drury 46-43 in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pittsfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
