The Providence Christian Academy Griffins lost against the Odyssey Charter Owls back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Providence Christian Academy took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Odyssey Charter. While losing is never fun, Providence Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 176th in Maryland, while Odyssey Charter is ranked 22nd in Delaware).
When it comes to explaining why Providence Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryce Unruh. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with seven steals. Unruh scored a full 40.4% of Providence Christian Academy's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Morris, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Providence Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Providence Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Odyssey Charter, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 18th. Calvary Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Odyssey Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Concord at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
