Last Friday, Farmington faced Hobbs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Farmington made off with a 46-45 win over Hobbs.
Kapiolani Anitielu continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kjani Anitielu, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
In what's become a running theme this season, Sandia gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 65-12 victory over Del Norte. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Sandia has posted since November 28, 2023.
Sandia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audri Wright, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Wright continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kaiyah Benally was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Farmington's record now sits at 15-1. As for Sandia, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Farmington hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 59.6 points per game. It's a different story for Sandia, though, as they've been averaging only 71.1 points per game. The only thing between Farmington and another offensive beatdown is Sandia. Will they be able to keep them contained?
