After flying high against the Columbia Eagles last Friday, The Lee Generals came back down to earth. Lee took a serious blow against Boaz on Friday, falling 48-14. Lee lost against Boaz in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 21-20 score last time.
Boaz got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Pierce out in front who rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 108 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Jacob Gareri got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Lee's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Boaz, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Lee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Boaz will head out on the road to face off against Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Mason Teague and Tristan Childers.
