The Tehachapi Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the East Bakersfield Blades at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Tehachapi is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Tehachapi's game on Thursday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of West by a score of 58-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Tehachapi had strong showings from Devin Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Karson Tiewater, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Kenny Pitt, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
East Bakersfield suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against North, falling 64-36. While losing is never fun, East Bakersfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1036th, while North is ranked 355th).
Tehachapi has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for East Bakersfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.
Tehachapi came up short against East Bakersfield in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 60-56. Can Tehachapi avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
