Orleans has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Mitchell Bluejackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Orleans had to settle for a 51-48 defeat against New Albany.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ian Hall, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Xavier Alston, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mitchell had to suffer through a rough 75-36 loss at the hands of Brownstown Central. While losing is never fun, Mitchell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Brownstown Central is ranked 17th).
Orleans' loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Orleans against Mitchell in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 66-34 victory. With Orleans ahead 39-18 at the half, the game was all but over already.
