The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Shadow Ridge Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mountain Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Pinnacle, who was ranked 20th at the time (Mountain Ridge was ranked 22nd). The Mountain Lions took down the Pioneers 33-14 on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Amiaya Tice, who rushed for 148 yards and one TD on only eight carries, and also threw for 232 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 148 rushing yards gave her a new career-high. Cameron Mailloux got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Mountain Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Tahlia Hempen, Mailloux, Anahlee Sifuentes, and Emily Scott picked up one apiece. Mailloux got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Shadow Ridge fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 28-13 victory over Skyline on October 7th. That looming 28-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Stallions yet this season.
Mountain Ridge better focus on containing Peyton Bills and Milayna Turner as the pair were huge in Shadow Ridge's win. Bills rushed for 130 yards and one score on only ten carries, while Turner rushed for 160 yards on only eight carries. Turner's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Shadow Ridge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 337 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
One reason for the win was Shadow Ridge's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Scarlet Vasquez. Another thorn in Skyline's side was Kylie Hammer, who made 12 total tackles and defended seven passes.
Mountain Ridge's record now sits at 5-7. As for Shadow Ridge, their record is now 3-6.
Everything came up roses for Mountain Ridge against Shadow Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 27-0 win. Will the Mountain Lions repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
