The Bishop McCort Crushers fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to the Mountaineers. Bishop McCort has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bishop McCort's loss came despite strong showings from Brock Beppler and Angelo Gallucci. Beppler rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while Gallucci rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown. Beppler was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards.
Bishop McCort's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.
Bishop McCort does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Philipsburg-Osceola also has no future games currently scheduled.
