The West Columbus Vikings's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They greeted the New Year with with a 64-48 victory over Lake View. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Columbus also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Leading West Columbus to victory were Tyler Watts-Brown and Larry Graham . Watts-Brown scored 16 points along with three steals, while Graham dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristian Tubbs , who scored 11 points.
The win got West Columbus back to even at 4-4. As for Lake View, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Columbus will take on Whiteville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Whiteville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday. Lake View won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dillon at 8:00 p.m. on January 4th. Dillon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
