The Kearney Catholic Stars waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They snuck past Boone Central with a 36-30 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Kearney Catholic, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kearney Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Callie Squiers out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Squiers' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Dzingle, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Kearney Catholic pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Boone Central, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearney Catholic's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Amherst at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. Amherst has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 174 points over their last three matches. Boone Central will be home for the holidays to greet St. Paul at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully St. Paul focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
