The Malcolm Clippers will square off against the Ralston Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Malcolm sitting on three straight victories and Ralston on four.
Malcolm is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Fort Calhoun 17-1 on Saturday. The Clippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.
Malcolm got a great performance from Cayden Robotham as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. Robotham has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Wisnieski, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Carson Frank was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
While Ralston didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Auburn with a sharp 11-1 win on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly ten runs.
Nick Benis tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, Bryson Sargent was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Vandervort, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.
Ralston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Ralston pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Malcolm, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Everything went Malcolm's way against Ralston when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Malcolm made off with a 12-0 win. Will Malcolm repeat their success, or does Ralston has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
