Softball Recap: East Prairie Wins Going Away Against Holcomb

East Prairie won the last time they faced Holcomb and things went their way on Monday too. The Eagles blew past the Hornets 12-2. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Sophia Jordan was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Marshall, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

East Prairie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holcomb only posted an OBP of .364.

East Prairie pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Holcomb, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-9 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Prairie will challenge South Pemiscot at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holcomb, they will face off against Scott City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
