Baseball Recap: Taft School Has No Trouble Against Frederick Gunn

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Avon Old Farms, Taft School was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Frederick Gunn Highlanders as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Big Red, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Uli Linn looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Oliver Lefkowitz was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bolen MacKellar, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Taft School has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Frederick Gunn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Taft School didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against Hotchkiss School on the 21st. As for Frederick Gunn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-5 defeat against Suffield Academy on the 19th.
