Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Many's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Many barely beat Winnfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Many put the hurt on Winnfield with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. Considering Many has won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Layken Foster, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Rylee Gunter, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Many has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Winnfield, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Many will face off against Zwolle at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winnfield, they will square off against Holy Savior Menard at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
