Emma Grace Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Annika Johansson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Harris, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Southeast Alamance won against North Moore on Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Stallions came out on top in a nail-biter against Chatham Central, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Stallions have posted since March 26th.
Tatum Shelton made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Wheeley, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Thomas, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Southeast Alamance has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Seaforth, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Seaforth came out on top in a nail-biter against Southeast Alamance when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
