Valley Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.
Valley Christian had a senior duo take command as Ian Glaspy scored 19 points along with seven assists and five steals and Chase Clary dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Clary has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Larson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Sacramento Country Day's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Byers, who scored nine points along with two blocks. Derek Taylor was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
Valley Christian pushed their record up to 10-8 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 88.0 points per game. As for Sacramento Country Day, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
Valley Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cristo Rey at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Cristo Rey comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sacramento Country Day, they will head out on the road to square off against Buckingham Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
