The Northwest Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Northeast Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Northwest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Even though Kirkwood scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Northwest still came out on top. Northwest came out on top in a nail-biter against Kirkwood and snuck past 57-55.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Northeast, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They were outmatched by West Creek on the road and fell 72-35. While losing is never fun, Northeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while West Creek is ranked 146th).
Despite the loss, Northeast got a solid performance out of Deshaun Peterson, who scored 16 points.
The win got Northwest back to even at 3-3. As for Northeast, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
Northwest beat Northeast 54-47 in their previous meeting back in February. Will Northwest repeat their success, or does Northeast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
