The Mount Everett Regional Eagles will challenge the Lenox Memorial Millionaires at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mount Everett Regional's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over McCann Tech. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Matt Lowe and Brodie Kinna made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lowe didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Kinna tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Lowe scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Kinna scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Mount Everett Regional got a massive performance out of Jacob Kreis, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was JJ Schneider, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Mount Everett Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCann Tech only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Lenox Memorial was able to grind out a solid victory over Mount Greylock Regional on Friday, taking the game 5-1.
Mason Daley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Jack Hicks and Brady DiGrigoli did most of the damage at the plate: Hicks scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while DiGrigoli scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Robbie Bazinet was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Lenox Memorial's win bumped their record up to 2-0. Mount Everett Regional has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record.
Mount Everett Regional couldn't quite get it done against Lenox Memorial when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
