The Brevard Blue Devils entered their tilt with the Trinity Bulldogs with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Brevard took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 44-13 victory over Trinity. Considering Brevard has won eight matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Brevard to victory were Benjamin Kessinger and Nyrell Skinner. Kessinger threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, while Skinner rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Brevard's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Judson Weaver and his two sacks.
Brevard's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-7 North Buncombe and 4-7 Polk County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.5% over those games). As for Trinity, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Brevard will play host again and welcome North Stanly, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
