The Grand Valley Cardinals put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past North Fork 50-20 at home. Grand Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.
Grand Valley had a senior duo take command as Jaycee Pittman scored 15 points along with six steals and five assists and Kaylae Medina scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Pittman is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Chloe Williams was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Fork struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Grand Valley's victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for North Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Grand Valley will head out on the road to take on Olathe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Olathe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Grand Valley is ranked 45th). As for North Fork, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Roaring Fork at 6:00 p.m.
