Crothersville has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers at 7:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Crothersville was beaten by West Washington 94-18. While losing is never fun, Crothersville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while West Washington is ranked 151st).
Meanwhile, Shawe Memorial's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Henryville.
Crothersville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Shawe Memorial, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-6 record last season and are now at 2-7.
Crothersville took a serious blow against Shawe Memorial in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 48-4. Can Crothersville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
